Monument cottage: Terms & Conditions
Monument Cottage is available from 4pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated on the day of departure by 10 am.
During peak periods( June, July , August, Christmas, New Year and Easter) the cottage is available for weekly rental only, normal letting period is Saturday 4pm – Saturday 10am. During off peak periods short breaks are available Friday 4pm – Monday 10 am (subject to availability.)
We would advise guests to take out holiday insurance as refunds will only be given if we are able to re book the property.
The cottage should be left in a clean and tidy condition.
Conditions of let:
- Monument Cottage is designed for a maximum 6 people and 1 baby using cot (under 18 months old )This number should not be exceeded.
- Monument Cottage is non – smoking.
- Dogs are permitted – limited to one small dog. Dogs are not permitted on the soft furnishing or allowed into bedroom areas.
- 50% of the tariff is payable at the time of booking, booking is only confirmed on receipt of deposit .The remaining balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival. Late bookings are payable in full if booked less than 8 weeks before arrival.
- No Sub letting is permitted.
- The tenant will be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of any breakages or damage to the property and contents incurred during letting period. All breakages must be reported to the owners.
- Any problems with the Cottage should be brought to the attention of Sharon or David Jeffrey, we will endeavour to resolve issues quickly.
- The owners accept no responsibility for accidents , injury or illness to guests or any other persons whilst in Monument Cottages or Downie Hill grounds. The owners accept no responsibility for loss or damage to property including vehicles whilst on site.
- Under circumstances outwith the owners control, we will assist in arranging alternative accommodation. Where this is not possible, full refund will be given. The tenant will have no further claims against the owner.
- The Cottage should be left in a clean and tidy condition.
- If the accommodation has not been taken 24 hours after booked arrival date and time, the owners assume the right to re – let the accommodation ( unless owners have been notified of late arrival)
